PhotoKopie Privacy Policy

Your photos never leave your device. Here is exactly what the app touches, and the little that it sends.

The short version

PhotoKopie does not upload your photos or videos anywhere. Copies go directly from your photo library to the storage you choose, on your device. There is no account, no login, and no server of ours that ever receives your images. Nothing is deleted without your explicit confirmation.

Photo library access

PhotoKopie asks for access to your photo library for two purposes only: to read the items you mark for copying, and — after you confirm — to delete the originals of items that were verified. The app never reads, transmits, or catalogues your library beyond what is needed to show the grid and perform a transfer you started. Deletions go through the standard iOS confirmation and land in Recently Deleted, where iOS keeps them for 30 days.

Access to your storage

You choose a destination folder through the system Files picker. PhotoKopie receives access to that folder only — not to the rest of the drive, and not to any other location on your device. A bookmark to that folder is stored locally so the choice survives a relaunch. A small manifest listing what was copied is written into that folder alongside your files.

What stays on your device

  • Your transfer history, including file names, sizes, and verification results
  • The bookmark pointing at your chosen destination folder
  • Whether Full Access has been unlocked, and whether that came from a purchase or a promo code
  • Which update notice you have dismissed

What the app sends

Three things leave the device, and none of them involve your photos.

  • Anonymous product events. When a paywall is shown, a purchase starts, succeeds, fails, is cancelled, or a promo code is redeemed, the app records the event name and a timestamp in our Apple CloudKit container so we can see in aggregate whether pricing works. No photo data, no file names, and no contact details are included. Because these records live in a CloudKit public database, Apple's CloudKit automatically associates each one with an opaque per-app identifier derived from your iCloud account. We do not use that identifier to identify you, link it to anything else, or contact you, and it is not shared. If your device is not signed in to iCloud, or is offline, these events are simply dropped.
  • A version check. On launch the app asks Apple's public App Store lookup service whether a newer version of PhotoKopie exists. The request contains only the app's bundle identifier; Apple receives it under its own privacy policy.
  • Purchases. If you buy Full Access, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details — only whether this Apple ID is entitled to the unlock.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
  • No third-party analytics, trackers, or SDKs
  • No selling or sharing of personal data
  • No profiles built about you or your library
  • No location data, contacts, or device fingerprinting

Notifications

If you allow them, PhotoKopie sends a local notification when a transfer finishes. These are generated on your device and are never sent through a push server.

Children

PhotoKopie is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can revoke photo library access at any time in iOS Settings, which stops the app from reading or deleting anything. Clearing the transfer log in the Transfers tab removes the on-device history. To request deletion of the anonymous event records associated with your iCloud identifier, email main@krishnalabs.ai and we will action it within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what the app collects, the updated date on this page will change and the revision will ship alongside an app update.
